De Groene Metropoolregio Arnhem-Nijmegen asked C2C ExpoLAB for assistance in implementing the decisions of the Woondeal, an agreement between different layers of government to facilitate more affordable housing.
C2C ExpoLAB asked the two organisations Madaster and Volantis, both highly knowledgeable and experienced in the field of circular construction, to be partners in this project. Joining forces, the consortium developed two tools:
1.) The Circular Impact Ladder.
to calculate how compliant with national standards and ambitions for circular buildings concrete plans for housing are. The tool is one of the first of its kind.
2.) A guide for constructing circular buildings on a large scale
to enable the provision a lot of affordable housing quickly. Overall, the Woondeal envisages 35,000 new homes in the region by 2025 and 50-60,000 in the medium term.
